Technical Services Manager

My client located in London, with offices across Canada is looking to hire a Manager, Technical Services.  You will be responsible for leading and developing a team of 10 IT professionals who are responsible for:  network infrastructure, server infrastructure and Tier Help Desk Support.  You will be responsible to deliver on multiple large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring SLA’s are met on issues and support.

Responsibilities:

  • Management and delivery of technology infrastructure projects and policies
  • Maintenance of both physical and VMware hosted windows and UNIX servers
  • Implementation and ongoing maintenance and support of network infrastructure – LAN and WAN
  • Maintain best practices regarding Service Desk support and SLA’s – multi-sites
  • Disaster recovery planning, implementation and maintenance
  • Vendor management
  • Mentor and guide career development of team members
  • Working with IS management team and key stakeholders to set priorities

Qualifications:

  • BS in a Computer Science or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • ITIL Certification (preferably V3)
  • 10+ years experience in a technical operations leadership role for a multi-site organization
  • 5+ years experience managing a team of at least 5 – 10 people
  • 5+ years experience in ITSM or customer service
  • Technical expertise in the areas of:

Windows Server and Linux operating systems

Exchange Email

VM Ware

LAN/WAN management and architecture

Data backup / recovery and disaster recovery planning experience

Service desk ticketing software

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, ability to work with and influence at all levels and functions
  • Self-starter and enthusiastic
